In the Maritimes, each province regulates the use of studded tires and restricts their use to specific periods during the year. The dates for installation and removal vary by province but must be adhered to in order to avoid fines and penalties. Below are the standard restriction dates, but please note that these timeframes can be updated by provincial government pending any weather variances.
New Brunswick – Studded tires are permitted between October 15th and May 1st.
Nova Scotia- Studded tires are permitted between October 15th and May 31st.
Prince Edward Island – Studded tires are permitted between October 1st and May 31st. -
