Parts & Administrative Clerk - Summerside, PEI

Coast Tire has a full-time opening in our Summerside PEI Location for a Parts & Administrative Clerk. We are a leader in Truck repairs and Tires and Automotive aftermarket with locations throughout NB, NS and PEI.
 
Qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or experience in the tire and automotive industry
  • Must have experience in basic accounting procedures (A/P, A/R, accruals)
  • Must be friendly and customer oriented; especially when answering phones
  • Must be adaptable and possess excellent oral and communication skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and an ability to organize and prioritize multiple objectives
  • Ability to work independently and with others; a strong team player with high energy
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
 
Main Job Duties include:
  • Answer telephones, book appointments and provide tire quotes
  • Ensure all outside purchases are recorded on corresponding work orders with correct cost; record any returns, code for payment and give to Manager for approval
  • Process payments and store credits and forward to Head Office
  • Process any other required paperwork for Head Office and forward promptly
  • Input receivables from suppliers and transfers from other stores into system and confirm all costs (inventory)
  • Code and verify proper pricing on invoices; Get required approvals and forward to Head Office in a timely manner
  • Ensure office supplies are kept at appropriate stock levels
  • Prepare month-end accruals and forward to accounting dept.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts (posting, input, verification and running all required reports)
  • Prepare letters, memos, etc. for the Manager, if required
  • Open and print work orders
  • Order parts; prepare quotes
  • Open and sort incoming mail (Canada Post and courier)
  • Communicate directly in person or by telephone with new and existing customer to promote our services and products
  • Selling parts to customers and supplying parts to mechanics from inventory
  • Process invoice for customer or put parts on R/O’s, ensuring price is correct
  • Order parts for mechanics or customers by phone or computer, ensuring correct part is received by the most economical method
  • Take payments or determine if credit is available or allowable if requested
  • Sell Island Oxygen gas
  • Check orders when received, putting all information in computer correctly and putting away on shelves
  • Work with Service Manager keeping track of special orders for setting up appointments for mechanics.  Give copy of parts not sold to Manager weekly for follow-up and if not sold, responsible to return.  Monthly go through print-out of in/out stock, if no stock, make inactive
  • General office duties
  • Maintain a tidy workspace and general office area and maintain an orderly filing system

Retail Tire Technician – Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, NS

Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd. has one (1) opening in Dartmouth for a Full-Time Retail Tire Technician. If you are a self-starter with an interest in automotive and working with your hands, we want to talk to you.

Coast Tire & Auto Service is a leader in the Tire Industry and Automotive Aftermarket with locations throughout NB, NS and PEI. The successful candidate must be physically capable to do the work and must take appropriate training.

Wages: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour depending on qualifications & experience

Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or experience in the field;
- Must be adaptable and possess excellent oral communication skills;
- Must have a positive attitude and an ability to organize and prioritize multiple objectives;
- Ability to work independently and with others; a strong team player with high energy;
- Must be detail oriented;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable;


Main Job Duties include:
- Install and repair passenger and light truck tires following the proper procedures which adhere to accepted industry standards
- Ensure work orders are filled in completely and properly. This includes pertinent info such as customer information, plate #, mileage, work to be performed or found, results of damages found in visual inspection, recording torque values or attaching torque slips, recording tire pressures and tread depts., any problems incurred while completing the work order;
- Follow through with customers (beginning to end). This includes proper greeting, determining their needs and ensuring all services are performed as per industry standards;
- Do visual inspection of hoist prior to starting any work. Record in Hoist Log Book;
- Ensure the initial inspection sheet is filled out for each vehicle entering the bay, note existing damages;
- Perform required vehicle maintenance and document (check fluid levels);
- Change and/or top up all fluids (Oil, Power Steering Fluid, Windshield Washer Fluid, Transmission Flushes, etc.);
- Installation of non-mechanical parts (Wipers and any accessories);
- Ensure equipment is properly inspected and maintained. Ensure this has been documented on the proper maintenance records, such as the calibration of the wheel balancer, verification of air gauge to master and maintenance of inflation chamber;
- Tidy work area and ensure general cleanliness of shop. Make sure bay door is locked and lights are turned off;

Automotive Technician - Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, NS
 
Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd. has a full-time opening in our Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, NS Location for a licensed Automotive Technician. We are a leader in the Tire Industry and Automotive Aftermarket with locations throughout NB, NS and PEI. The successful candidate must be physically capable to do the work and must be willing to take the appropriate training for safety and the trade.
 
Qualifications include:
  • Automotive Service Technician License; Will consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice;
  • Valid Driver’s License; must be insurable (no major infractions in last 7 years)
  • Must be adaptable and possess excellent oral and communication skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and an ability to organize and prioritize multiple objectives
  • Ability to work independently and with others; a strong team player with high energy and a willingness to mentor apprentices
  • Must be detail oriented; have an ability to utilize computer systems and programs

The successful candidate must be physically capable to do the work and must take appropriate training for the trade and safety.
Qualifications include:
  • Truck & Transport Technician License; with MVI certification
  • Reefer experience with HVAC license an asset;
  • Valid Driver’s License; must be insurable (no major infractions in last 7 years)

  • Ability to inspect truck and trailers (MVI’s)
  • Ensure work orders are filled in completely and properly.
